Esteban Salas Early Music Festival

Every year in the month of February, music enthusiasts gather in the Old Havana neighbourhood in Cuba to celebrate the Esteban Salas Early Music Festival or the Festival de Música Antigua Esteban Salas. This festival is very popular among the locals, but is also well attended by foreigners.
The Esteban Salas Early Music Festival was started in the year 2003 and gets a large crowd of attendees on an annual basis. The festival was started to commemorate the artistic talent of Esteban Salas, who was a famous composer in Cuba. The first festival took place on the 200th anniversary of the death of Esteban Salas.
The Esteban Salas Early Music Festival takes place in a number of different venues across Old Havana. These include prominent venues like the Iglesia de Paula, Centro Hispano-Americano de Cultura, Oratorio San Felipe Neri, Palacio de Gobierno and the Basilica Menor del Convento de San Francisco de Asia.
