International Pepe Sanchez Trova Festival
It has always been in March the date chosen for its execution because it was the month in which José Sánchez was born “Pepe Sánchez”, father of the troubadour song in Cuba and from March 15 to 19, coinciding the term of the event with the date of the birth of Pepe Sánchez, which is the day of the troubadour in Cuba.
Santiago de Cuba is the host city for this festival which celebrates the Trova music genre. Trova has a few different styles and sub-genres, and many of these are represented at the festival by musicians who are passionate about this romantic form of musical expression.
