Although it might seem a cliché, I live as if the camera were an extension of my hand. While some are scared of monsters or the dark, I am tormented in dreams with not having a camera to take a picture if a UFO falls…or the Air Force One flies by.
I have proven myself in several fronts: I started as a traveling photographer, I trained to be an editor in the photography department of the Latin American Prensa Latina News Agency and I sold what I had to buy my first semiprofessional camera. Now I’m a photo reporter of the daily Granma and a regular collaborator of other publications.
I’m not scared of the term stringer and, although I am more associated to the cultural world, I don’t set limits for myself. I especially like to photograph everyday things.
My idol: Robert Capa, though I wouldn’t mind imitating Annie Leibovitz.
My dream: Founding my own photography agency.
