A large amount of persons avid to approach our culture, traditions and gastronomy come to the island during the summer. Beyond being a sun and beach destination, Cuba can provide unique, diverse vacations full of history, nature and much charm. OnCuba proposes its visitors an eclectic and suggestive route for the summer you won’t forget.

Havana Club Rum Museum

This popular museum opened its doors on March 31, 2000 to complement the sales strategy of the Havana Club International S.A. Company and promote the good taste for rum, a spirit very linked to Cuban culture. Located in the heart of Old Havana, in an elegant colonial mansion of the 18th century, it offers a fascinating meeting with the history of Cuban rum, whose origins date back to the arrival of Christopher Columbus, which not many persons know. Through a guided tour, and in diverse languages, the institution shows visitors each step of the process of making the prized spirit by reconstructing the process from its original distillery and its aging warehouses, to the tasting of Cuba’s Rum: Havana Club in a traditional bar of the 1930s.

Río Mar

Río Mar’s seductive and elegant atmosphere surprises the senses at its entrance. But, undoubtedly, the principal attraction, in addition to the delicacies offered to the palate by the new tendencies in the presentation of the dishes of a minimalist inspiration, the fusion of textures and flavors in tune with international standards, there is the privileged landscape, the exclusive view, just where the Almendares River flows into the sea. It is important to make reservations, since at any hour of the day and night many approach it to enjoy the place. Ideal for romantic suppers, the site also favors getting together with friends and for business meetings. The decoration, the atmosphere, the concept, the smell of the sea, the gastronomy and the service’s good energy come together to regal you with an exceptional experience, difficult to forget between the river and the sea.

Varadero 60

This peculiar site in the Hicacos Peninsula was born to relive the past while looking at the future. Varadero 60, a family business that distills an exquisite old glamour, is the result of its vintage, classic and nostalgic concept. The reconstruction of that golden age has been the objective of its founders, who propose a site full of charm that, through elements of traditional Cuban cuisine, makes us penetrate the delicious flavors of our culinary roots. Pleasure and memories, accompanied by an excellent professional service to feel the memory.

Mediterráneo Havana and Vista Hermosa

In the center of the capital’s El Vedado we find the Mediterráneo Havana, a pioneer restaurant on the From Farm to Table platform. Vista Hermosa is the farm that places the products on its healthy and nutritious table. Of the many establishments that offer the demanded service, this is one of the few that is an invitation to genuinely and completely live the complete experience. The peculiar farm awaits us a few kilometers from the busy city life. It belongs to the Emiliano Montes de Oca Cooperative, the province’s biggest producer of goat milk and one of the region’s mayor suppliers of meat. In it you can enjoy the authentic countryside environment, see the making of cheeses and sausages, among other agricultural tasks. The farm also offers a typical country restaurant and a guateque country party to liven up the suppers. Natural and very fresh products can be tasted in both restaurants. In the first, made by the Sardinian expertise of Italian chef Luigi Fiori with Mediterranean recipes and, in the second, in a Cuban and traditional style, straight from where the Cuban is born
